Cycling the Vineyards of Bordeaux

  • Explore the bustling historic city of Bordeaux
  • The elegant wine villages of Saint-Émilion and Sauternes
  • Indulge in world-famous wines and delicious cuisine
  • Ride through peaceful countryside and vineyards
  • Uncover the complex history of Cadillac's château
Cycle through Bordeaux's prestigious vineyards, enjoying the region's world-renowned Grand Crus wines and fine gastronomy. Ride on peaceful country roads, cycle paths and old railway lines that take you through pretty countryside and wine estates, passing charming villages and medieval walled towns with their castles and citadels. Starting in Bordeaux, leave the city on cycle paths alongside the Garonne River, passing through the vineyards of Haut-Médoc and Margaux to reach the citadel of Blaye. Continue to Saint-Émilion, with more than 800 wine producers and an endless landscape of vineyards, some dating back to the Roman times. Have time to explore and taste the wines here before cycling through farmland and fertile plains to Cadillac and Sauternes, the home of sweet white wine. Return to the bustling city of Bordeaux and toast the end of your ride in one of the city's many historic squares. To allow for more time to visit the many wine estates en route, to enjoy longer lunches or to allow more time to relax and recover at the end of a days ride, we highly recommend hiring an E-bike.
