Visiting the Bernese Oberland
This picturesque corner of Switzerland offers some of the most spectacular experiences, hike in the shadow of the Eiger's north face, admire the villages of Gstaad or Murren, or watch the thundering Staubbach Falls from Lauterbrunnen, the Swiss Alps don’t get more in-your-face beautiful than this.
There are plenty of this to do when visiting which do not include hiking, do not miss:
1. The Jungfraujoch, the top of Europe, a viewing and adventure platform at 3454 meters above sea level providing breathtaking views across the Alps.
2. Schilthorn, a panoramic revolving restaurant at the summit, Piz Gloria, which was featured in the James Bond movie, Her Majesty's Secret Service.
3. The First Cliff Walk, a lookout platform near the terrace at the Bergrestaurant. The terrace rises 45 metres out into the void simulating the feeling of flying in the mountains
4. The Gletscher Schlucht (Grindelwald Glacier Gorge), a popular destination for a unique sensory walk through its exposed rock galleries and tunnels, which have been carved out by glacier melt.
