  • Discover South Downs National Park

The South Downs National Park is England’s youngest National Park, established in 2010, but its origins date back to ancient tracks used by traders since the Stone Age. It’s a haven for hikers, with its rolling hills, quaint villages, and historic sites. The elevated ridge paths provide panoramic views of the English Channel and beyond, making it a favorite among nature lovers.

Winchester, England: The trail begins in this historic city, once England’s capital. Don’t miss Winchester Cathedral, one of Europe’s largest Gothic cathedrals and the resting place of Jane Austen. Explore local markets and enjoy artisan breads, cheeses, and more at England’s largest farmers' market.

Seven Sisters Cliffs: The final stage of the South Downs Way offers unforgettable views of these chalk cliffs, which are slowly eroding into the sea. The area is a hotspot for photographers, bird watchers, and hikers.

Sussex, England: The UK’s largest wine-producing region, is making a name for itself, especially for its sparkling wine, but the region is humble too with quintessential coastal towns, beautiful beaches, historic castles, and home to traditional English gardens.

Best Hikes or Walks in the South Downs: From the tranquil Devil’s Dyke to scenic vineyard paths, the South Downs National Park boasts some of the best walks in England.
