Camino Portugués Coastal Way

Camino Portugués Coastal Way

Highlights
  • Walk to Santiago along the wild Atlantic coastline of Portugal and Galicia
  • Enjoy a quieter Camino experience away from the crowds
  • Explore the medieval towns of Baiona, Pontevedra and Padron
  • Dine on fresh seafood and sip on ruby port
  • Experience the colorful, vibrant UNESCO heritage city of Porto
  • Stroll through seaside towns and past authentic fishing villages

An interesting and quieter variation of the main Camino Portugues central route, the Portugues Coastal Way or Caminho da Costa runs from Porto to Santiago following the wild Atlantic coastline of northern Portugal and Galicia.

Starting in Porto, you take in the last two sections of the Pilgrimage to Santiago following rugged coastline rather than the landlocked Traditional Route. This gives you a chance to explore a different Camino, one bursting with Portuguese flavors, amazing little fishing villages and traditional cuisine.
